About Us

Amrutham Gamaya is a heart-centred kirtan band dedicated to creating sacred spaces through the transformative power of music and chanting.

A husband and wife duo who are strongly devoted to the path of Shakti (Divine Mother), as well as their 2 children who we home educate alongside the seva they offer through music, mantra and cacao.

Rooted in the ancient tradition of Bhakti yoga and Sanatan Dharma, our performances blend soulful melodies, uplifting rhythms, and deep devotion, inviting audiences to journey inward and connect with the divine.

Their name, which translates to “The sweetness of life” in Sanskrit, reflects our mission to inspire love, unity, and transcendence through every note we play and name we chant.

With the blessings of our teachers we are taking the music to different communities across the UK and beyond to bring more teachings and awareness to the power of mantra and kirtan for personal and global wellbeing.

It is by their grace only that we can bring the flow of mantra and music to you.

Our music

At Amrutham Gamaya, we weave together traditional Sanskrit mantras, heartfelt harmonies, and contemporary musical arrangements to create a unique and immersive kirtan experience. Our music is a celebration of connection—an invitation to sing, clap, and dance together in community. Each performance is a co-creation with the audience, where the boundaries between performer and participant dissolve, leaving only the joy of shared devotion.

Be prepared to be uplifted into bliss and equally feel the intensity of the divine holding you through emotions and movement within the body.

We pride ourselves on our Yorkshire roots entangled with the divine teachings of sanatana dharma, rock and roll and blues style music. All while giving the highest respect and honour to where these teachings have come from and the masters who brought them to humanity.

We ensure our spaces are safely held and are always available to speak to our guide anyone after our sessions if they have had a particular experience in which they need assistance. Although this has not yet ever happened, we are prepared for it if it does.

PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS

Amurtham Gamaya has had the honour of sharing our music at various sacred gatherings, festivals, and intimate community events. Some highlights include:

Stone Cold Sober Festival 2023 – Headlined a Saturday night kirtan session for over 100 attendees as well as numerous intimate kirtan spaces.
Co-facilitation with Antarma Day Retreats– Held numerous interactive chanting and music retreats and celebrations with our good friend and teacher Antarma.
Solstice Events Day Festival 2025 – Performed kirtan for numbers up to 80 people in Suffolk at a beautiful festival.
Ignite Sober Rave Weekend Festival – Headlined Saturday afternoon at this wonderful vegan festival with around 100 attendees, sharing magical moments (images of the event are below)
Local Community Events – Performed monthly kirtans, cultivating deep connections in our spiritual community.

What We Offer

We are delighted to bring our unique energy and offerings to your festival, including:

Full Band Kirtan Performances: Uplifting and interactive sets ranging from 60 to 180 minutes.
Workshops and Ceremonies:
- Group chanting and singing/ kirtan workshops exploring the power of mantra and voice.
- Sacred cacao ceremonies combined with meditative chanting.

Technical Requirements

Our basic setup includes:

3 microphones (lead vocals x 2 and harmonium).
DI input for guitar.
Stage monitors for accurate sound feedback.

We can provide some of our own equipment upon request.

Shambho - Guitar & Vocals

Shambho, devoted upasaka to Shakti, infuses the music with soulful guitar melodies, uplifting djembe beats and grounding energy, drawing on a deep connection to music with 20 years of guitar practice experience. Husband to Sri Matreshwari.

Sri Matreswari - Harmonium & Vocals

A passionate devotee of the Divine Mother and musician, Sri Matreswari brings a playful, creative energy, heartfelt devotion & shakti to every kirtan with her voice and harmonium. Wife of Shambho.
